Week 9: Merry Christmas Eve!

Hola Again,

It is Christmas Eve and I am off of work until the first of the year, so I figured that I should write a post to update you on the happenings. Not a ton has happened since our last post. We haven't been to the doc again, yet... but we are 9 1/2 weeks in and we think we have wrapped our minds around the thought of becoming parents... at least for right now, I'm sure we'll have many many more "freak out" times before he or she arrives!

Christie has been very fortunate, thus far, in that she hasn't been sick very much at all. She has had a few bouts of nasea, but mostly she is just tired, nay exhausted, most of the time. She is mostly tired becuase her body has a significantly larger amount of blood that it has to circulate, which causes her heart to work harder. Therefore, she is tired alot. But we hear that this will get better soon, at least for a little while.

According to babycenter.com our kiddo is about the size of a grape right now, and its "flippers" have started to look more like hands and feet now.

As for us, we spent last weekend in Tulsa, OK with my family and had a blast. It was really great to see everyone. My youngest brother even flew in from Albania (he's currently in the Peace Corp) to surprise my parents... and they were VERY surprised. Tomorrow is the last Christmas with just Christie and I, which is an interesting thought. Next year we will have three by the tree. Weird! But awesome!

Well, I should wrap this up because there is so much food to eat that I need to get started! We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year... and for those that are Oklahoma State fans, look for us at the Cotton Bowl... we'll be the ones wearing orange!

I'm happy to hear that your Christmas has been going well. I'm very excited about your grape with flippers. Frank and I have a great gift for expecting parents that only the two of you will appreciate. Can't wait to see you guys on New Year's Eve. I'm off all day and can help cook/clean if needed so definitely let me know. Court

  2. This is the first I've heard of the baby on the way. Congrats! Given my being in Canada and all...keep the blog going as this is probably the only way I'll know what's going on.

Excited for the two of you. Jeremiah
