Week 9: Merry Christmas Eve!

Hola Again,

It is Christmas Eve and I am off of work until the first of the year, so I figured that I should write a post to update you on the happenings. Not a ton has happened since our last post. We haven't been to the doc again, yet... but we are 9 1/2 weeks in and we think we have wrapped our minds around the thought of becoming parents... at least for right now, I'm sure we'll have many many more "freak out" times before he or she arrives!

Christie has been very fortunate, thus far, in that she hasn't been sick very much at all. She has had a few bouts of nasea, but mostly she is just tired, nay exhausted, most of the time. She is mostly tired becuase her body has a significantly larger amount of blood that it has to circulate, which causes her heart to work harder. Therefore, she is tired alot. But we hear that this will get better soon, at least for a little while.

According to babycenter.com our kiddo is about the size of a grape right now, and its "flippers" have started to look more like hands and feet now.

As for us, we spent last weekend in Tulsa, OK with my family and had a blast. It was really great to see everyone. My youngest brother even flew in from Albania (he's currently in the Peace Corp) to surprise my parents... and they were VERY surprised. Tomorrow is the last Christmas with just Christie and I, which is an interesting thought. Next year we will have three by the tree. Weird! But awesome!

Well, I should wrap this up because there is so much food to eat that I need to get started! We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year... and for those that are Oklahoma State fans, look for us at the Cotton Bowl... we'll be the ones wearing orange!

New Baby + Technology = New Blog about New Baby

Hola,

As some of you already know, we are expecting our first child at the end of July! For those that didn't know... well, now ya do! There are several reasons that we are starting this blog:

1) It is an awesome way to let you, our friends and family, know what is going on with us and the new lil' one...

2) It is a great way to chronicle all of these crazy happenings, so that we are able to look back on them in years to come...

3) Our little one might one day, look here to learn about his or her childhood adventures… then he/she will hug us because we are the best parents EVER for doing this.

We will try to keep this blog update often with how doctor visits went, how we are feeling, what we are doing to get the house ready, etc. And that's just the stuff up to when the baby comes... after that... well, the sky's the limit.

Also, you are the ones that will keep us motivated to post often... and if we don't know that people are reading this, then it could be very easy to forget to post, etc. Therefore, comment on posts you like or dislike... let us know what you want to hear about... just click "comment" below a post and you can read what others have said and add to the conversation, etc.

We are truly looking forward to starting this new chapter in our lives...

So... here we go!
